Dental Nurses
Sandra King (Nurse Manager)
Sandra met Mr Ali while they were both studying at Glasgow Dental Hospital & School, Mr Ali as student dentist and Sandra as student dental nurse. She qualified at Glasgow in 1976. Between 1987 and 1994 Sandra lived in Jersey, working as a dental nurse in private practice. She joined our team in October 2002 and has been on several training courses, including ADI conferences in Birmingham 2003, Edinburgh 2004, London 2006, Birmingham 2007 as well as the Nobel Biocare conference in Las Vegas in 2005. The experience Sandra brings to the team is most appreciated by all members of the team, especially the nursing staff.
Fiona Anderson
Fiona qualified in 2006 and joined our team in October 2008. Since joining us she has been working with most of our specialists, has quickly settled into the centre and has become an important part of the team. Fiona has attended a number of courses and has gained her Childsmile Certificate at Glasgow Dental Hospital & School. She has an interest in making the clinic friendly for children as well as adults. Fiona also has had annual CPR training since 2004. Effective in both dental nursing and administration, she will help make your visit at the clinic as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
Lesley Chalmers
Lesley has been our longest serving nurse. She has wide experience in all aspects of dentistry and has a special interest in endodontics. She assists Mark Lang in providing the very highest standards of care for their patients and her high dedication is much valued by all our patients. Her skills also include nurse training. With her quick wit and great sense of humour she is a great asset to all the team.
Claire Sweeney
Claire joined our team in January 2008 as a trainee dental nurse. She is currently studying for her National Certificate in Dental Nursing. Claire has proved to be an asset to our team, working with most of our Dentists and Specialists and her secretarial skills have been a great advantage.
Lisa Twaddle
Lisa has worked as one of our valued nurses since 2001, after training in General Practice for two years. She qualified in 2000 and is registered with the GDC. Lisa mainly works alongside Alan Maxwell and also assists with our other Specialists. Lisa helps out with secretarial duties and reception tasks, putting her administration qualifications to use. She can always be seen with an infectious smile on her face.
Fiona Wylie
Fiona qualified from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1999. She joined our dental nursing team in October 2005 as a restorative nurse. Fiona has gained experience working with Mr Ali and our reception team and moved on to become Dr Faqir’s nurse and implant coordinator. Fiona is known for her jolly nature and as well as being well organised. To widen her knowledge of implant dentistry, Fiona attended the Nobel Biocare World Tour in London in 2006 and the ADI conference in May 2007.
Elaine Docherty
Elaine qualified as a dental nurse in May 2002 and joined our team in March 2010. Since joining us, she has demonstrated a high standard of clinical awareness and patient care. She has a keen interest in dental implantology and has been developing her skills in this exciting area of dentistry. Her welcoming disposition and clinical knowledge makes her a very valuable member of our team.
Pamela Douglas
Pamela qualified from Glasgow Dental Hospital and School 2008 where she achieved a Merit in National Examination and received The Dental Directory Award for Highest Marks in hospital examination. Since qualifying, she has worked as dental nurse in all departments in the Dental Hospital, which has given her great knowledge in all areas of dentistry. She also has experience of working within NHS general practice. Pamela joined our team in October 2009 and mainly works alongside Mr Arshad Ali and is keen to further her knowledge in dental implantology. As she is also trained in Orthodontics, she also works with Dr Ross Jones, making her a highly valued member of our nursing team.
