Laboratory Technicians

Rodger McLaughlin

Roger was born in Ayr in 1947. He undertook his apprenticeship as a dental technician in Ayr from 1962 until 1967, attending Langside College Glasgow where he graduated. After working in a few dental practices and laboratories gaining experience in Scotland, he moved to Gloucester to run a crown and bridge department. At this time, he attended an advanced course in crown and bridge at the Mathew Bolton College Birmingham. In 1976 he moved to Hamburg to gain more experience, working mostly in private practice. After 10 years in Hamburg he moved to the Black Forrest working in private dental laboratories and dental practices. After 20 years of living abroad, he and his family came back to Ayr where he ran his own dental laboratory for 10 years. Rodger has joined us on the opening of Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry and will provide quality laboratory support for our patients.

Kevin McLaughlin

Kevin was born on 1991 in Singen (Black Forrest Germany). He came to the UK with his parents in July 1996. He attended Ayr Primary Grammar School from 1996 until 2003. From 2003 until 2008 he attended Ayr Kyle Academy. Kevin spent 3 months in 2008 doing voluntary work with The Princes Trust. Kevin has always had an interest in the technical side of dentistry as his parents used to have their own dental laboratory. He has had some experience of working in a dental Lab and joined our team as a Trainee Dental Technician on the opening of Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry. He will be attending Telford College in Edinburgh, studying for a 4 year course in dental technology.
