Yannis' basic dental training was at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School where he graduated as a Dentist in 2005. After dental qualification, he gained experience in General Dental Practice, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Paediatric and Restorative Dentistry during which he was awarded a Membership at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2007. He then decided to embark upon an orthodontic career and he was appointed as a Specialist Registrar at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London in 2008. In 2010 he was awarded a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London and during this time he undertook his research degree in muscle cell regeneration for which he was awarded the Houston Prize by the European Orthodontic Society. In 2011 he gained his Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was awarded the prestigious JK Williams Gold Medal as the top-performing candidate in the Royal College examination.
Following this post, he was appointed a Senior Registrar in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital and also at Kingston Hospital, which led to the award of his Fellowship, by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Yannis has served as a Locum Consultant at Crosshouse and Ayr Hospitals. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Society and the British Dental Association. His clinical interests are varied; he has a special interest in the use of invisible braces and the treatment of adults.
