Your first visit

Many of our patients are referred to us by their dentist or doctor, while other patients come to us directly for treatment. Whatever the circumstances, you can be assured a warm, friendly and professional welcome from the moment you step through the door. Patients under the age of 16 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their first consultation.

    Before your first visit

A medical and dental questionnaire will be sent out to you by post. We would be grateful if you would complete this and bring it with you to your first appointment. This will help us to know a little more about you so we can plan your treatment effectively. Please be sure to let us know if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, and to detail any medications you are on. This information will remain confidential, and will ensure we can provide you with the best and safest treatment.

Your dentist may also be able to email x-rays to us: please discuss this with your dentist at the time of your referral. We can also take additional x-rays if required here at the Centre using digital technology which produces far less radiation than conventional x-rays.

We do not usually start treatment at your first appointment, unless you are in pain or have a cosmetic problem that needs immediate attention. In most cases, your first consultation will involve explaining how we can help you, detailing all treatment options and costs so you can make an informed decision. Once you have decided on the best option for you, we will book you a second appointment to start treatment.
