Practice Manager

Fiona qualified in 2006 and joined our team in 2008. Over the years Fiona has gained experience and knowledge in many areas of dentistry and has a special interest in implant dentistry, traveling to Lisbon to attend the All on 4 Immediate function course.

In 2013 Fiona was appointed Dental Nurse Manager and enjoys the day to day challenges the role brings.

She has completed the BDA radiography course and is currently completing a Higher National Diploma in Dental Nursing.

Fiona is fully trained to use our InMode machine that features several different functions including radiofrequency body contouring, laser hair removal and IPL skin rejuvenation.

Like all of our team Fiona is keen to help with any enquiries and is dedicated to making your visit to the clinic as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Lorraine Eccleson

Treatment Coordinator

Lorraine joined the practice over 16 years ago as a qualified dental nurse. Since then she has developed skills in other roles within the clinic leading to her becoming the Treatment Care Co-ordinator. In this role Lorraine displays excellent customer service skills and likes to build relationships with the patients to help them through their dental journey.

She has a desire to continually learn and develop further skills and is always keen to increase her knowledge within the dental industry. Lorraine has completed Level 3 Advanced Diploma Treatment Care Coordinating in April 2019.

Holly has over 17 years' experience in the fast-paced dental industry- and still loves it!

Before working at SCED she took advantage of a fantastic opportunity working in Melbourne and Perth WA as a dental nurse for 18 months before joining the SCED team.

Holly has been with SCED since 2015.

When not working, she loves spending time with her family and her beautiful daughter Heidi.

Many additional skills – radiography, impression taking, rubber dam placement, CADCAM Scans, Topical Fluoride, Topical Anaesthetic and more.

Passionate about career, enjoys learning

Rachel is keen to progress further in the Dental field to continue on to become a hygiene therapist or dentist in the future. She joined SCED in March 2021.

When not working hard at SCED Rachel enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, dancing which she has been doing since the age of 4 and going hill walking.

Helen has been a dental receptionist for 12 years both in Scotland and in Northern Ireland

She enjoys interacting with the patients and being part of their journey 

In her free time, she is loves being active. She partakes in activities such as water sports and hill walking.

Judy Began her career in dentistry straight from school in 1991 working as both nurse/reception staff remaining in the same practice for 27years.

She then changed career and worked as a Complex Needs Practitioner for 2 years but returned to Dentistry & joined SCED in Dec 2020 as receptionist.

Out with work Judy loves spending time with her partner & her 3 grown up children.

In her spare time, she likes to spend time with my friends and family and especially her pet pooch Biggie

Nicola Smith

Treatment Coordinator

Nicola joined SCED in March 2020, she previously worked at Dawood and Tanner as a surgical nurse and Treatment Co-ordinator. Nicola still holds her GDC registration and qualified as a nurse in 1999.

When not helping patients chose the right treatment option for them, Nicola is kept busy with her son Quinn and husband Bobby, she is also a keen runner and once ran the New York Marathon.

Dental Nurse

Lesley has been our longest serving nurse. She has wide experience in all aspects of dentistry and has a special interest in endodontics. She assists Mark Lang in providing the very highest standards of care for their patients and her high dedication is much valued by all our patients. Her skills also include nurse training. With her quick wit and great sense of humour she is a great asset to all the team.

Lisa qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2000 and soon joined the team at SCED in 2001.

Lisa originally worked as a Dental Nurse in  Periodontist/ Orthodontist but has evolved into the dual receptionist/secretary role that affords a better work/life balance.

Lisa is highly skilled at dealing with patient queries and appointments’ as her Dental Nurse background affords her years of experience and our patients love her calming yet friendly voice when they call.

Outside the practice Lisa is a busy mum of three who is kept on her toes! She loves nothing better than family time with her beautiful children and husband Barry.

Dental Nurse

Fiona qualified from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1999. She joined our dental nursing team in October 2005 as a restorative nurse. Fiona has gained experience working with Mr Ali and our reception team and moved on to become Dr Faqir's nurse and implant coordinator. Fiona is known for her jolly nature and as well as being well organised. To widen her knowledge of implant dentistry, Fiona attended the Nobel Biocare World Tour in London in 2006 and the ADI conference in May 2007.

Dental Nurse

Megan started her career as a Dental Nurse in 2008 and qualified as a dental nurse in 2011. Since then she has continued to progress and achieve various additional qualifications within the dental field. In July 2016, Megan was appointed as a Dental Nurse and Face and Body Cosmetic Therapist at the Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry. Most recently, Megan has completed a qualification in laser training enabling her to perform specialist non-surgical face and body treatments.

In her spare time Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and family and keeping fit.

Gemma started at Calderwood Dental Practice at the age of 17 and qualified as a dental nurse aged 19 when she moved to Love Your Smile Dental Care.  During her ten years there, she was promoted to practice manager.  She joined us in January 2014 and her knowledge has been invaluable with the expansion of the practice, having worked with Scot Muir for many years.

In her spare time, Gemma enjoys spending time with her family including her young niece and nephews.

Sheree Simpson


Sheree joined Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry in July 2016 as Secretary and PA. She brings several years' experience as an NHS Medical Secretary to the busy team at Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry.

Sheree also has an HND in Fitness, Health and Exercise and is a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer. In her spare time, she enjoys training in the gym or walking in the Scottish Highlands.

She is married to Ryan and has a one-year old son Declan

Ruth joined SCED in March 2015 whilst completing her training. She qualified in July 2016.

Ruth is also a part-time model at Superior Model Management. In her spare time, she like to keep fit and regularly attends music festivals.

Ruth is very passionate about her role and in her spare time has taken on extra work within her field.

Last year Ruth took on an associate writer position with NFCE (Northern Council for Further Education) and was responsible for the creation of the OSCE examination papers. 

Ruth is also on the dental nurse comminute for the ITI (International Team of Implantology) as a dental nurse ambassador and Co-director of the ITI nurses study club. 

She is among four dental nurse’s that are responsible for creating and developing the new platform for dental nurses within the ITI.
